Mini Car Derby Rules
- Any American or foreign car allowed.
- 109" wheel base or less with 4 or 6 cylinder engines. Modifying wheelbase to reach limit not allowed. No full frame cars.
- All glass molding, trimming, etc. must be removed before entering grounds.
- Battery must be moved inside of car and securely fastened and one battery only.
- Gas tank must be relocated to back seat area of car. Electric pumps allowed. Factory tanks may be used as long as safely secured. Any gas leak during event will be automatically disqualified.
- No trailer hitches.
- Stock type rear end only. No bracing of any kind. Positive traction allowed.
- Tranny coolers allowed.
- No Engine, distributor, and fuel tank protectors allowed. Fuel tanks may not be welded to floor pan.
- 1 radiator in stock location. Aluminum radiators allowed.
- Headers allowed stock or aftermarket.
- If not running headers, then a 10" hole must be cut in hood for safety purposes.
- No leaf springs under coil springed cars. No modifications to leaf spring cars.
- Suspension must remain in stock form for that vehicle. May be stiffened.
- Any type 15 inch tire or smaller. Wheels may be reinforced or stiffened.
- Body or frame seams can be welded. No added metal unless stated.
- Door seams may be welded solid. Strapping may be 2 1/2" wide 1/8" thick.
- No body creasing allowed.
- Tucking of rear truck lids allowed. May be welded solid and/or bolted in 6 spots. No added metal except for strapping 2 1/2" wide 1/8" thick.
- No double skinning allowed. Rips and tears may be patched with max thickness of original body thickness. No excessive skinning. Must be able to see rip or tear from inside.
- Hood may be fastened in 6 spots 1/2" bolt max. Chains or wire allowed. Metal may be welded on each side of hood and fender in 6" lengths 1/4" thick for hood mounting only.
- Front sway bar may be welded to engine cradle.
- Any bumper allowed. Aftermarket and homemade bumpers allowed with factory skin on outside of homemade bumpers. No excessive points.
- Bumper may be welded solid to frame. May be welded and/or bolted on. Horns may go 6" inside frame for mounting purpose only. No straps to body or frame.
- No frame plating or stuffing allowed in front or rear of car. Broken or ripped frames may be patched with metal of 1/4" thick. 3" on each side of break or rip. No excessive plating. Must be able to see rip or break. Rust is not a break or rip.
- No hump plates or quad.
- No added metal in any part of car unless stated otherwise.
- 4 point cage allowed inside car. No more than 6" past door post. May run four down bars from cage to floor pan.
- May run roll over bar.
